Résumé

This presentation shows how to build a file server that automatically creates EBU R128 loudness corrected versions of audio files transferred to it. The server processes files more than 20 times faster than realtime and gives visual feedback of the loudness variations in each file in the form of loudness history graphics. The server is easy to integrate in many workflows and is very easy to use since it only requires the user to drop in the finalmix audio file on the server and copy the corrected file back through the network. All software components used in the server are free and open source. http://freelcs.sourceforge.net

Mikael Hartzell is an ex audio engineer, current system admin and support person for Pro Tools audio workstations in the Finnish Broadcasting Company YLE.
